From 2009 - 2016 I dealt with shin splints.

I was constantly in the trainer’s room, I did all of the exercises, prehab, rehab, homework, stretching, etc.

I’ve spent thousands of dollars and thousands of hours trying to fix my body, yet I was still in pain.

I didn’t understand how shin splints truly worked in the first place. I never fully recovered. I listened to athletic trainers and doctors who preached RICE. I was stressed out and underslept.

I missed out on the key things that would’ve actually helped me feel better. (Because you can’t get that in a pill or a block of ice.)

This is what I wish happened: a coach sat me down and explained exactly what I was dealing with, why it happened, and what we were going to do so I could run pain free again.
